Christmas 2015

From Fort Nelson, BC

Christmas greetings
from Brenda, Shannon, and Jim!

This may be the last Christmas that we are so far away from the area from which we started our journeys many years ago. As of July 1st, 2016, we are retiring from full time ministry and we will be returning to our house in West Lorne.

Some Highlights of 2015:

Camping: Near Kluane Nation Park with Brenda, Ernie, Evan and Michael (and Snowy). Great vistas and beautiful weather, although smokey from the various forest fires on the west coast.

At Rondeau Provincial Park with Mary, Dino, Solomon and Allison. BIGGG STORM!!!

Working: Shingling the shed roof in West Lorne with Elizabeth and Shawn.

Visiting: At Bobier Villa with Great-Grandmother
In Fort Nelson and up the Alaska Highway with Neice Julie
In Hudson-Vaudreuil with Patrick, Christine, Brigid, Owen, Stuart and Abigail
In Stratford with John and Nancy
In West Lorne and Wallacetown with Yvonne, Betty, Bob and various other relations.

Church:            Hillcrest Church is a very alive and active congregation. We can move the pews!
This past year saw the arrival of several children, Summer mid-week evening worship (instead of Sunday), a very interesting study series (Living the Questions), and a great deal of work done on the manse. We also hosted the Texas bicyclers riding for Cancer, and the Northern Lights Presbytery.
On December 13th, we began worship with a live nativity using the Huron Carol as the script.

El Salvador:     Otra Fe is now a registered not for profit. The partners in El Salvador are in the process of doing the same in that country. Just after New Years 2016, Jim is leading a group from Fort Nelson BC, Spirit River AB, New Liskeard and Paisley ON. We go to learn about “The God of the Poor” while helping to build a chicken installation near Ahuachapán.

May the charity and good-will we experience at Christmas
be with each one of us through the coming year.

Love, Jim & Brenda
